The ring action will be as hot as the New York temperatures these days – sizzling – when DiBella Entertainment’s undefeated Dmitriy “Star of David” Salita returns to the ring in the main event against James Wayka on Thursday night, July 20th in the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center in New York City on the next edition of Broadway Boxing.

Fighting out of Brooklyn, Salita has a stellar ring record of 24-0-1, including 14 wins by way of knockout. Wayka, fighting out of Mounds View, Minnesota with a record of 14-4 with 8 KO’s, will challenge the home crowd favorite Salita in a 10-round welterweight fight. An Orthodox Jew originally hailing from the Ukraine, Salita looks to add another win to his already impressive resume against the upset minded Wayka as he strives towards a world title challenge.

The red hot, star-studded under card includes Dash-DiBella Promotions’ Curtis “Showtime” Stevens (13-0, 11 KO’s) in an eight round WBC Youth Super Middleweight Championship. The Brownsville knockout artist looks to continue his impressive pro winning streak as a fixture on the Broadway Boxing scene against rugged veteran Marcos Primera. A win over Primera will give Stevens the first of what most believe will be numerous championships in the years to come.

New York State Heavyweight champion and former Boston College football player Derrick Rossy (11-0, 7 KO’s) will do battle with Demetrice King of Flint, Michigan in a six round affair as the Medford, Long Island native tries to continue his ascent in the heavyweight ranks.

Maureen Shea of the Bronx will be see action against Olga Heron (4-5, 1 KO) in a six round featherweight contest. Shea, the Irish/Mexican bombshell, will be making her second straight Broadway Boxing appearance.

Two youngsters both make their first professional appearances in the ring when Prenice Brewer of Cleveland, Ohio battles Roberto Acevedo of San Juan, Puerto Rico in a junior welterweight four rounder; while Brooklyn’s up-and-coming Jamelle Hamilton (1-0, 1 KO), the brother of top DBE unbeaten contender Sechew Powell, takes on Delbert Sommerville (1-0) of Akron, OH, in a four round junior middleweight affair.

Broadway Boxing will air on a later date exclusively in high definition on HDNet and in over 30 million homes on SportsNet New York in the New York Metropolitan Area, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet Southeast, Comcast SportsNet West and Comcast Local - Detroit. Broadway Boxing is sponsored by HBO Sports, StubHub and Gallagher’s Steak House.
