Round Two: Manny Pacquiao vs Erik Morales Mailbag!

By Kimo Morrison1/28/2005:

Welcome to Round Two of the Manny Pacquiao vs Erik Morales Mailbag. The second of many more mailbags to come. All questions will be answered so send yours in today!

If you missed it, You can readRound One: Manny Pacquiao vs Erik Morales Mailbag!

Rolly Cafuir: Fights history says Pacman's weakness is his chin. He was down by Torrecampo, Hussein & Yackmanengkov. So He is quite vulnerable to EM's uppercut. I'm sure F. Roach will make the necessary adjustments. What do you think F. Roach should teach D'Pacman? Tnx & more power!

Kimo Morrison:

Rolly,

First off, your chin is only a weakness if it causes you to lose and out of those three fights you mentioned Torrecampo is his only loss and that was a decade ago, so he is a much more matured fighter now, and that is hard to judge a fighter by what happened to him 9 years previous. Pac's last legit loss was in '99 so if you look at it from a different standpoint...he is doing NOTHING but growing with each outing.

What Roach needs to teach him is to not revert back to old school head hunting when you got your guy hurt. Just invest, invest, invest... the pay out will come if not trying to "get rich quick". Just as I hear guys say about Bernard Hopkins...he has no power...he's not a one punch fighter...how can he hang with...cause even when he has a guy hurt he sticks to game plan, just working hard and making sure he don't get caught by something stupid. Like the tortoise and the hare, you dig? Thanks for the question

Bong Aler: Pacman will KO morales before 6 round. Morales is slow and doesnt have power to KO pacman.Uppercut will kill morales on any round like Fahsan.

Kimo Morrison:

I hope you don't live in the U.S. with that name bong, cause you...well never mind...before 6? It could happen as anything is possible, but I see EM as too much of a "Machismo" type to let his demise come that early. Remember it is always a good shot that wakes that ol Mexi Fry up to make him remember it is fight night. I think by the 6th, the fireworks will be just heating up for a GRAND FINALE that will come a bit later! .........eeeeaar bong!

Dondon Porio: I have seen a lot of Erik's fight but now that he is in sf/jl I have seen him vulnerable. Never seen him with battered face in a fight before, right now looks like he is not very comfortable with his weight. I firmly believe that Pacman has weapons in his arsenal than just a straight left hand as other are saying. We have seen him against ledwaba, mab, julio and lucero. He might not be a perfect boxer but he is always there to put up a good fight. I think Erik will have a L, with TKO in his resume after March 19. More power to hardcoreboxing! There is only one clear winner comes March 19. All boxing Fans out there!!!!!!!

Kimo Morrison:

Now if that is the first time you have seen Erik with a battered face then I have two other fights with MAB you should see brother, cause that shit was swollen fatter that your lips after taking a shot from yours truly. However, I do not feel he is comfy at this weight. Neither Erik...of course he was between junior welter and Welter last fight not super Feather. Only time will tell how Pac handles the size jump as well. Hopefully he doesn't come it at 140lbs + or it could be lights out for him. Pac's power comes from those stumps under his torso some call legs. Like a pitchers release he uses all of his massive 130lb frame exploding from down low. And yes we all win with this fight, I only wish they could all be done so easily with out all the political BS. Thanks Dondon.

Louie: What should both fighter avoid during this brawl?

Kimo Morrison:

A good clean punch from the other man Louie...a good clean punch! Each other....I guess...I don't know cause any way you break it down it is gonna be a fuckin train wreck with carnage left for miles. I only wish I was there to witness such an occurance as I love the smell of blood and death. Thanks Lou

Clark: Who has the most devastating punch? Em or MP ? Because as far as I'm know Morales cannot knockdown MAB while Pacman Ko'ed MAB in the their fight (if I'm not mistaken its in the first round)?

Kimo Morrison:

Yeah Clark you are sadly mistaken, you been eating them retard sandwiches again? If it were in the first, then the world would have missed an awesome display of another 10 rounds of boxing by Manny. Now I make no excuses for MAB, and he fought valiantly, but his eyes looked distant that night, and though I had picked him to win the fight originally, I remember seeing the look of defeat in his eyes as he ENTERED the ring and knew that I had made the wrong call and MAB would be dethroned.

Director: Will it be possible that Pac will fight him weighing only 127 or 128lbs? or he should be at 130? if not 130, will it not be allowed?

Kimo Morrison:

Is it possible? Yes, he could pull an Oscar DLH if he wanted to, but you are looking at two different types of fighters, Pac BELIEVES in his power and that will grow as he gets bigger...DLH on the other hand who came in light to throw off Hopkins did so because he BELIEVED he had no power and knew his ONLY chance was a grab ass game of stick and move. Thanks.

XO Jack: DO YOU BELIEVE THAT MORALES WILL KNOCK PACQUIAO OUT? THANKS

Kimo Morrison:

Do I personally? No...I think that with moving up Erik has lost both speed AND power. Size does not ALWAYS necessarily make you a better puncher. That is a myth. I have knocked cold plenty of guys who thought their punch was bigger than their ass and ego but with my big Hawaiian butt, I have one thing they don't...I was BORN to punch. Just as Big George has always said and is one of the ONLY things I whole heartedly agree with. Punchers are born, not taught! The sad thing is there are so many undeveloped NATURAL Champs out there never to be found for they used their gift to knock out their old lady, or a cop or something stupid. That is one thing I see missing in the Heavy D right now...a BORN puncher!

Ben Kisla: Freddie roach mentioned in his previous interviews that MP's power punch is comparable to that of a middleweight? Does this mean that he can handle any lightweight guys once he steps on that ring?

Kimo Morrison:

That's simple....NO! Just because he may be able to hit like a middleweight does in no manner mean he could be HIT by a middle weight. Meaning this, as he moves up, he also faces men that are Natural at this weight. They have to make no adjustments changing as their body changes because they are not changing. This is the complexity of moving up...it is not a cut and dry as it sounds "if he can KO this guy and take this punch than he can beat this guy!" Bull shit! With EVERY little bit of weight added something HAS CHANGED like it or not...to say otherwise is not knowing reality. It is how quickly some can adapt to the change in how they will handle the jump. For some it is just that extra two pounds! Puts them over the limit! Like tipping a scale that only goes so far. You must balance everything just right or it will come crashing down on you. Understand? Thanks Ben

Spike: Do you believe in logic? Pacquiao beat Barrera while Barrera beat Morales? If yes then what can you say about the out-come, if no what can you say about that Morales when he fought Barrera in the 3rd time?

Kimo Morrison:

No I do not believe in logic spike. Look at Spock for God sakes! Kirk ALWAYS got the chick! Logic would tell you that if you played the game of numbers you would have to win some time, but ol pointy ears met pointy fingers quite often...When it comes to boxing or fighting at all for that matter there is only one thing to believe in...Chaos! If you have ever fought in the ring or in the street, I can assure you this, it NEVER goes the way you run it through your head! NEVER! A tweak here, a pop there, ANYTHING is possible in boxing ANYTHING! If you are a "logical" person though ol spikarooo, run your analysis on the Heavy Weight picture and mail me your outcome. Every body will lose, and everybody will win! WOW LOGICAL!

PS ...pictures of a small little bitch dog whooping up on an ol English Bull Dog coming to mind!

Tyler Steven Baldeviso: It is widely known that both Erik Morales & Manny Pacquiao are excellent boxers but who do you think has the advantage in the ring? Ring generalship & boxing skill (Morales) or speed & power (Pacquiao)? In my own opinion I lean towards Pacquiao coz he has this bullet left straight that you can't see when or where it is coming just ask Barrera or Marquez what do you think?

Kimo Morrison:

Well...that is neither here nor there as far as I am concerned asking another man if he just saw the bullet that killed him. Quit asking stupid questions and get your ass down and maybe you'll dodge the one that was meant for you. Most of the fighters know where it is coming from because it does not change, he throws that son o' bitch strait down the pipe EVERY time when it is coming full force. How he screws them on the when is by stacking it cleverly behind his jab and FAST! It is the speed of which it follows and how the jab is just enough to tap the chin back off the chest and POW! BANG! BOOM! Ass over tea kettle. This is where a double and triple jab come in handy after respect has been established. They start to flinch...EVEN SO SLIGHTLY NOT EVEN CAUGHT BY THE NAKED EYE TO MOST, but that 8th of a second pause in their rhythm is how he catches them sitting still. They just tensed for the lightning fast left behind the first jab, then realize shit!!! it didn't' come then POW!!! Shit! There it is! And they had just fallen in to the trap of relaxation.

Chick Ezpeleta: All this talk of who will win is moot but interesting. The reality is both have a chance of winning and the only way we'll know is to wait till March 19 comes around. That being said, I agree Manny has the edge in power, speed and natural talent but I do think Eric is a better schooled fighter and certainly has the power to KO Pacquiao if he times one good shot well plus he can finish people off as he has shown in the past if he gets them in trouble. So bottom line Manny wins but has to be careful not to get tagged or allow bad judging like what happened with the Marquez fight get the better of him.

Kimo Morrison:

Moot! Isn't it? Yes I agree mootly! Thanks

Jonathan: I know that manny pacquiao will knock out EM......

Kimo Morrison:

A better bet is I KNOW I would Knock YOU OUT!!! LOL Man you don't "know" anything for sure...refer to previous mail on "Chaos" theory!

Pepper Manuel: Do you think Morales can take the punch of Manny Pacquiao? And, does Eric Morales possesses the power to knock Pacquiao down? (Morales can't even put Barerra on the canvass) Thank you and more power!

Kimo Morrison:

Yes I think he CAN take the punch but will he? Couldn't tell you if he will but he can. Does he possess the power to KO Pac...Yes...but will he? Who gives a shit about what either did to MAB, neither one IS Marco. How will they handle each other is what I am concerned about. Thanks Pepp

Ed: Manny prove to the universe that your are a true champion by knocking out Erik and all of your future fights. If Manny wins what may be his and his corners next move?

Kimo Morrison:

In your name..........AMEN! Lots more praying would be a good start for the next move. Seriously, I would have to say that MAB is the most likely of choices, but who knows on how this ends, it could be controversial and we all demand an instant re-match. Or one could die and then nothing... or one could rape somebody, or beat up his wife, or better yet shoot her in his car. Life my boy, what it will bring nobody knows. Get to bed ed!

Lou Wyn: I just want to ask regarding the weight limits of 130 lbs, my question is, if the 130lbs is the ceiling is there any possibility on the fight night that both fighters will go beyond the limit? Obviously on the part of Pacman, he will not reach the 130lbs, but on the side of Morales who is really a real 130lbs, do you think Morales will weight more than 130lbs during fight night?

Kimo Morrison:

How do you know that it is "obvious" he won't hit 130? I have talked to guys saying Pac can tip them at 170! 5 to 10 lbs difference at this weight CAN make a difference, but it is HOW each uses each weight to their advantage, and then is able to force the other to change strategy. Yes, Erik will weigh over 130 in the fight.

Eastern: I would like to ask the height and reach of MAB so i can compare it with Pac. ty

Kimo Morrison:

Why? It has ZERO bearing on this fight in front of him!!! Brother I could beat up every guy that stepped through my door, and I am sure that they could all beat the living daylights out of my mom (God rest her soul) but in no way does that mean that my mom couldn't take me out any day of the week! Get it?

Gerry Ivin Gallardo: The main reason for Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao to win his fight against Erik Morales is for him to be recognized as truly the best Featherweight boxer in the world. If he wins, the Marco Antonio Barrera camp will no longer have excuses for their Nov 15, 2003 defeat with the Pacman. As the Golden Boy Oscar De la hoya had said that it was not MAB who lost to Pacquiao but somebody else will now all be lies! Pacquiao had truly beaten Barrera on that fight. In terms of Marquez, his refuse to have that rematch with Pacquiao has prove him a loser for he didn't have the guts to negotiate properly for that rematch. And now, Manny has to prove himself again. No doubt, Manny will outbox Erik on March 19. But, he has to show a form and a boxing strategy similar to which he executed against Barrera to win. If he goes immediately for the KO, then he will have a problem for Erik is usually a slow starter. Manny will just loose his energy if he goes immediately for the KO. For me, all the Pressures is on The Pacman's side, for if he loses, his critics will have a chance to erase all his remarkable profiles. Unlike with Erik, even if he loses, he can just escape this by just moving up in weight which he is already planning to.

Kimo Morrison:

I agree with most of that...which will make this easy...The last two sentences though I can't let slip by cause I tell you what. If that dumb ass moves up again after getting beat (if he does) twice at this weight, then the Mexi weed must be better in T WANA!!!!! Don't worry I will give him shit if he loses!
